Homework after Session 6: the build stretch
Time: spread across the gap, one stage per session. This is the real thing now: the rest of the iOS roadmap, solo.
-
Build the remaining stages of the iOS roadmap. One session each. The rhythm, every session, no exceptions:
/context-restore → build the stage from
plans/roadmap-ios.md→ /ios-qa on your phone → evidence, not "done!" → commit → /context-save -
Keep the build log. One line per session in
LOG.md: date, what got done, what surprised you. Add abugs:line for anything that broke, what it was, and one sentence on the actual cause (if you can't write the cause sentence,/investigateisn't finished with it). -
When you get stuck (you will; it's the curriculum):
- Two failed corrections → revert, fresh session, better brief
- Stuck >30 minutes → message your tutor: your last save summary + screenshot + specific question
- Genuinely blocked on one step → mark it, move to the next. Don't lose the stretch to one boss fight.
- The fence gets in the way → /unfreeze, say why out loud, change, /freeze again. Moving it silently is the one way to fail in this stretch.
- The app vanishes off your phone, not a bug, Apple's 7-day free signing limit. Re-run it from Xcode and it re-signs. It's on the iOS corner cheatsheet.
-
Live with the app. Actually use Shelf Life in your actual kitchen right through the stretch. Note, separately from bugs, every moment the spec turns out to have been wrong about your life. Don't fix these! They're exceptions, not edits: the list feeds the exceptions log, the final retro, and the graduation question that closes the course, which lifecycle would you pick next time, and why?
Definition of done before the next session: the iOS roadmap complete through its
local-first stages, QA'd on the device, LOG.md has cause-sentences in
it, and the spec-was-wrong list has at least one honest entry.
