Wazzon‽ privacy policy

Short version: your location and your settings stay on your phone. The app fetches one public listings file from idst.uk and does everything else on the device. There are no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.

What stays on your device

Where home is, how far you will travel, which days you are free and how often, and any showings you have added to your calendar are stored in the app's private storage on your phone. None of it is transmitted to IDST UK or to anyone else.

If you tap "Use current location", the app asks iOS for your position once, on the device, to set home. That position is not sent anywhere. Decline the prompt and you can type a place or postcode instead.

Adding a showing to your calendar writes one event through Apple's EventKit, when you ask it to. Removing it again uses the calendar permission you grant at that point. Wazzon‽ never reads, edits or deletes any other event.

What leaves your device

One request: the app downloads https://idst.uk/wazzon/events.json, the same public listings file for everyone, hosted by Netlify. That request carries the ordinary things any web request carries (your IP address and the app's user agent) and nothing else: no location, no settings, no identifier for you or your phone. Netlify's own handling of request logs is described in the site privacy notice.

Tapping "Book" opens the venue's or ticket seller's own website in your browser. What happens there is governed by their privacy policy, not this one.

The web app

The version at idst.uk/wazzon/app works the same way and keeps its settings in your browser's storage. Two things are different. The map is drawn with Leaflet, and its scripts and map tiles are loaded from public content networks (cdnjs and OpenStreetMap), which see the ordinary request details above and the map area you are looking at. Searching for a place or postcode sends that text, and nothing else, to postcodes.io to turn it into a location. The web app also caches the listings so it works offline; clearing site data in your browser removes it.

How long it is kept, and how to remove it

Everything the app stores lives on your phone for as long as the app is installed. Delete the app and it goes with it. Showings you added to your calendar stay in your calendar, because they are yours; remove them there or from the showing's page in the app.

What Wazzon‽ does not do

No analytics or crash-reporting SDK. No advertising or advertising identifier. No tracking across apps or websites. No account, no sign-in, no email address. Nothing is sold or shared, because there is nothing to sell or share.

Children

Wazzon‽ is rated 4+ and collects nothing that identifies anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. In practice nothing is held: the only data is on your own phone. If you would like that confirmed, use the support form with "Wazzon data request" in the message. IDST UK is the data controller. If you are not satisfied with how it is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If what the app sends changes, this page changes in the same breath. The date at the top is the date it was last true.
